Hello Summer, Hello Cancer season!
The countdown ends here as the sun moves into nurturing cancer in the early hours of June 21st AND we celebrate the summer solstice ☀️ 💃🏻 🌸
SUMMERTIME 😎 ☀️
The summer solstice marks the shortest night (20th June) and longest day (21st June) as we now start to see the days draw out again. Officially half way through the year we can welcome light back into our lives, feel a weight has been lifted and you may also have an urge to declutter, get rid of the old and bring in the new! Gemini season has had us ramped up for change and we can be sure to see that manifest itself in the coming weeks.
In typical Cancer nature we will see ourselves turning our attention to our family and home. Focusing on anything that can make us feel safe and secure. Nurturing and taking care of our loved ones and personal projects come into sharper focus and we will see ourselves more invested in our personal lives in the weeks ahead.
Key thing to remember this Cancer season:
“As you "come out of your shell" this summer, be kind and loving to yourself and to others. Don't be afraid to get cozy and sentimental—just resist using those claws to pinch others when they get close, too.” ~ Lisa Stardust
Astrology dates for your diary.
20th June - Jupiter Retrograde
Jupiter, the ruler of Sagittarius, goes into retrograde and will remain there until 18th October. During this cycle we tend to re-think our goals and plans. We can find ourselves questioning what we thought we already knew and develop a new perspective on events and beliefs. Recognizing areas of excess or extravagance can help us through this transition. Slow down if something is moving too quickly.
22nd June - Mercury throws shade
Just because Mercury comes out of retrograde, it doesn't mean this planet has finished with us just yet as we can still feel the effects of this energy for a couple more weeks while going through the retro-shade process. Planet of communication, Mercury rules how we understand, deliver and receive information. Be aware of any potential communication mishaps
24th June - Strawberry Full Moon
At around 7:40pm we are graced with the Strawberry Full Moon. This Full Moon encourages us to Vale what we have and to release any burdens we may be holding. This would be a fantastic time to book yourself in for a Tarot reading with the Enlightenment girls to gain divine insight and advice on moving forward into the next lunar cycle. You can also check out our Full Moon Letting Go Exercise
~Fun fact about the strawberry full moon. In North America, the harvesting of strawberries in June gives this month's full moon name. Europeans have dubbed it the rose moon while other cultures named it the hot moon for the beginning of the summer heat.
25th June - Neptune Retrograde
Neptune, the planet of inspiration, dreams, psychic receptivity, illusion, and confusion, goes into retrograde around 8:20pm. Neptune rules spirituality, and all things subtle. We should use this retroenergy to reflect and focus on our deepest desires. See beyond illusion and embrace the truth—even when it's hard to swallow.
June 27th - Love and the Lion
Romantic Venus enters warm and caring Leo. Passions can rise and we can use this time to be a little more giving to our partners.
10th July - New Moon in Cancer
Where we let go of burdens and baggage on a Full Moon, the New Moon is the perfect time to commit to personal goals. Feeling blocked and suppressed can fuel a desire to start fresh. Honour your most intimate, irrational & deepest feelings. Allow yourself to accept support and offer it to others. The high Cancer energy today calls you to make important changes. It's time to make plans and put ‘out there’ the things we want to manifest, set the stage for your new beginnings. Take a look at our New Moon Wishbox exercise and manifest the life you want!
11th July - Talk it out
Mercury enters Cancer which will encourage us to talk about our emotions and needs. Don't be put off from doing this. Clear that throat chakra and get communicating!
15th July - Chiron Retrograde
Chiron is a comet with a unique orbit and represents our deepest wound and our efforts to heal it. Also known as a ‘wounded healer’, Chiron makes us face issues of low self-worth, feelings of inadequacy and learning to rise above these issues. Healing powers are potent at this time, as Rumi says- “The wound is where the light enters you.”
We all have the same powers as Chiron within us, we have the ability to take our pain and turn it into light and let it be our power.
Use this retrograde to look at the deep rooted pain we have been through, turn it into our courage and strength. Look at what this did to you and where it has bought you today. We cannot undo the past but we can move forward happy and healthy. If you need any help or would like to find out more on how you can heal yourself, please get in touch with us on our Facebook Page
Thank you so much reading and have a happy, healthy Cancer season!
Lots of love from Dee & Mel @TheEnlightenment11
